    Scan - Brand Items

    Makeena is smart enough to automatically add the offers / rewards when you scan a barcode.

     

    No need to browse and add the items manually every time!

    Add - Special Offers

    For special offers from Makeena, barcode scanning is not needed.

     

    Simply tap "ADD" button next to the item in the barcode scanning page.

    Snap Receipt

    Take a picture of the entire receipt from top to bottom.

     

    For a long receipt, you can add a section.

     

    Make sure all of the text in the receipt is readable.

    Manage Receipts

    If you make a mistake, you can cancel your submission and re-submit.

     

    For any declined receipts, you can easily re-submit without having to scan barcodes again.

    Redeem Rewards

    If you have enough points for rewards such as extra cash back or freebies (100% cash back), you'll get a pop-up asking if you'd like to redeem them when you scan the barcode.

     

    Or, you can also go the brand's rewards page to manually add the reward to your shopping list.

    What's Makeena?

    • Makeena brings together "loyalty programs" of curated healthy and eco-friendly brands.  If you are, or become a fan of any one of our brands, you can continuously earn points and rewards from that brand - and from us too!
    • After shopping, scan the barcode of EACH eligible product you purchased and then snap a photo of your receipt.
    • We'll verify your purchase(s) and credit your account with either points or cash back (usually within 48 hours, but it may take up to 7 to 10 days).  
    • You can also earn BIG by referring friends to Makeena or having them try different products (you’ll receive a $1 referral bonus from Makeena + brand points if your friends make a purchase, submit a receipt, and their receipt is accepted).
    • Each brand has different points and rewards - typically, additional cash back, freebies, and more.
    • When your account balance reaches $20, you can request to be cashed out through either Paypal or Venmo.
    • After you request cash out, it may take us up to 30 days to validate all of your referrals, points earned, and receipts.  Both donors and brands have entrusted us to monitor their accounts and we take our role seriously.

    Where can I purchase products?

    • Unless otherwise specified, you can purchase products at any store - even online!  You can also find store locators in the product offer detail page.

    How do I redeem special offers?

    • For Special Offers from Makeena, barcode scanning is not needed.  On your Redeem tab, tap on "START SCANNING!”.  Then, tap on "ADD" button next to Special Offers under Shopping List.

    Items I scanned are not being recognized.

    • From time to time, brands have new items or packaging with different barcode numbers.  If the item you scanned is not recognized, please email us a photo of the product, barcode, and your receipt.  We'll check/update our database and give you the full credit if it's a valid item.

    Can I combine Makeena with coupons?

    • You can combine Makeena with retailer/manufacturer coupons or other offers unless otherwise specified in the deal terms.

    Can I redeem purchases made with a gift card?

    No, at this time we do not accept redemptions for items that are purchased with gift cards.

    How do I get the rebates/points fast?

    • After snapping the photo of the receipt, make sure the texts are clear and readable.  (A little bit of blurriness is fine - we automatically compress the images for quicker uploads.)  If you mark the relevant items on the receipt, your processing will be accelerated.

    What are points for?

    • Each brand gives you points after you purchase their products.  You can also earn points by completing activities, such as watching a clip, Tweeting, writing a testimonial for the brand, signing up for the brand's newsletter, taking a photo of a brand's display in the store, or sharing on Facebook.  Points typically convert to additional freebies (100% rebates), cash, and other rewards.  You can see the points that you've earned at the top section of each brand's screen on the right side of the brand logo. 

    Do I earn more Points if I buy multiple items?

    • Yes, except for Makeena’s offers.  You can earn points for every item you've purchased - please remember to scan barcodes for each of them.

    If I have more than one (1) item to redeem, do I need to submit receipt multiple times?

    • No, please submit your receipt only once, and we'll process rebates/loyalty points for all relevant items/quantities.  Never re-use your receipt, please.

    How frequently can I make purchases and redemptions for an individual offer?

     The number of purchase transactions allowed for any individual offer item is limited to ONE transaction per 24 hour period. Submitted offer redemptions that exceed this transaction limit will not be accepted.

    How long does it take to get rebates/points after submitting a receipt?

    • Many receipts are processed within 48 hours, but it may take up to 10 to 14 days at times.

    When do I need to submit the receipts by?

    • In-store Purchases: Receipts must be submitted within seven (7) days after purchase.
    • Online Purchases: Receipts must be submitted within ten (10) days of ordering the product. Either a screenshot of your online order page showing how much you paid per item and a zero balance owed, OR a packing slip (again showing how much you paid, with a zero balance owed) is acceptable as an online purchase receipt.
